Location

Frampton-on-Severn is arguably one of Gloucestershire's best kept secrets, nestling along England's longest village green, in a quiet no through road on the edge of the Gloucester/Sharpness Canal and the River Severn.
The village also has much to offer anyone with an eye for nature. The Village Green has an abundance of wild flowers, no doubt due to the fact that it has existed without ploughing, spraying and the addition of pesticides/fertilisers for over 250 years. There is plenty of bird life especially around all the local lakes and ponds, the canal and the river beyond - also frogs, toads, newts (including the protected great crested newt) dragonflies and fungi. (Bill Oddie's Naturewatch programme of the flight of the starlings at dusk was filmed here) All these watery places are connected by excellent Public Footpaths and Bridleways.
Being just 2 miles from the M5 motorway this is a great location for exploring The Cotswolds, The Forest of Dean, Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bath, Bristol, and the beautiful and dramatic Glamorgan Heritage Coastline etc. - all within less than an hour's drive. Also a perfect place for a stopover while travelling to or from Devon or Cornwall.
Excellent woody and watery walking country too - from the front door! Cycles (+ hats) and wellies are available to borrow for long lazy rides or walks along the towpath, Severn Way, etc., and packed lunches prepared for our guests if required (although good traditional English pubs abound!)
